The Other Things: My long KNB fic. KagaKuro love story. First-person POV, switches between Kuroko and Kagami. Slow Burn. Canon-compliant. No Smut.

The story begins the night of the Winter Cup finals, and focuses on the relationship development between Kuroko and Kagami from there onward.

This is a very self-indulgent story: It’s rather unpolished, very dialogue-heavy, has minimal plot and follows whatever whims I had while writing, paying absolutely no mind to readability. Even so, it seems to be one of some people’s favourite fics ever. So, you’ll probably like it if you love this paring and are somewhat like-minded with me.

Lucky: MidoTaka romantic comedy.

I’m not super invested in this paring, but I had a funny idea, so I had to try it, and it turned out somewhat more emotional than I originally thought.

The Snow Queen: A side story to The Other Things. Makes little sense on its own. AoMomo love story.

This story is about Momoi’s growth and relationships. Inspired by the fairytale The Snow Queen.

Anything Can Happen : Into The Woods parody.

Kagami has a weird dream, and we take a trip to his subconsciousness. Not that it seems to be in his control at all.

I accidentally referenced Into The Woods in The Other Things, and it’s my favourite musical, so I couldn’t help myself. This fic is a break between The Other Things and its sequel.

The Hidden Things: The Other Things sequel.

It’s basically still The Other Things, but I had to call it something else, since I decided to break the story into parts. The themes kind of mature with the characters, I think.

  1. Hi I just wanted to tell you that your KNB Fic is AMAZING! I have never read any other fic that was as amazing as yours. I completely fell in love with it. The way you portray each side and feelings is just a piece of art. I have not finished it yet because I only read 1 to 2 chapters per day because I have to savor it as long as I can, which is very hard. The way you write is just so different than others and it just perfectly fits my taste, which is why I am going to check out your other stuff. I am very much excited about how this fic will end because I have no clue how to picture the ending. BTW I am from Germany, so if I have any grammar or writing mistakes I am very sorry. Keep up the amazing work!

    1. Thank you! That is so reassuring to hear, because I debated whether to post this fic for some time. I really poured my heart into it in a more personal way than most of my writing, which is why it’s been such a pleasant surprise to find that this fic resonates with people. And of course, it’s extra rewarding to see that my meandering style is just right for some people.

Please, don’t apologize for writing mistakes! I’m not a native English speaker either, so who knows what mistakes I make and never even know. 🙂 Germany is beautiful by the way… well, I’ve only been to Hamburg, but the trees were so beautiful there that I continue to look at the pictures I took there when I need inspiration for drawing trees. xD

      1. Wow, I would have never thought that you weren’t a native English speaker. It is kinda fascinating how people from different countries understand each other because of the English language. I, as an example, only like reading English stories and fics and I don’t know why. But I am glad I do because otherwise, I would not have found such amazing fics as yours.
Hamburg is indeed really beautiful and I have only been there once but I absolutely understand what you said about the trees xD.

        1. The vast majority of the media I consume is in English as well, both because it just gets the most media attention, and because a lot of Finnish (my mother tongue) media just doesn’t really speak to me. It often tries too hard to be artistic and politically relevant. You know, to the point where it’s not about the characters or the story anymore, and that makes me lose interest. That, or it’s just too depressing. (Even a romantic comedy can’t seem to make it through without someone dying from drugs, alcoholism, or a terminal illness.) Not all of course, but it’s common, and it’s usually written in a way that highlights how hopeless and empty life apparently is. ^^’ So yeah, I’d much rather watch cartoons about magical swords and lesbians saving the world. 😀

          1. I would also rather watch cartoons about magical swords and lesbians saving the world (German tv shows are really bad). Recently I have seen how authors publish or sell a few copies of the fic to the readers and I will just say if you will ever sell The Other Things as a book, I would pay for it whatever the price

          2. Thank you, it means a lot to hear that. I haven’t been able to justify selling fanfiction to myself, since it is technically illegal. Even though I would have no problem with someone who made fanfiction/art of my original characters and sold it. On the contrary, if anything of mine ever got popular enough for that, I would be so happy if it benefitted another artist as well. I don’t think fan stuff usually hurts the creator, because it tends to be things that they’re not going to make anyway, and I regularly see people getting into the original story because they read a good fic, too… I’m sure there could be ways to protect both the original author and fan authors, and probably in some countries there already are. However, I do want to make physical copies of the fic once it’s ready. (At this rate it would be multiple volumes.) So, once I do, maybe if some people wanted a copy with my layout and cover art, I could just send them the documents and everyone could independently use a printing service to get the physical copies… That requires some thought, obviously, but it sounds plausible to me. 😀

  2. Well if you ever do physical copies of the fic that would be amazing and I would definitely want a copy with your layout and art. Plus, multiple volumes are so nice.

BTW, been loving the story so far. It just gets better with every single chapter. Just seeing the notification of a new chapter makes my day.
