Hi!
I’m Eve. You may also know me as EveMoon, evelhak or Glasssneaker. This is my personal online archive. A work-in-progress. It is by no means a professional site in any sense or aspect. It’s just a place for me to collect and display all the creative stuff I’ve made for fun, from when I was a child. (What I still have, anyway.)
Why?
1) I think it’s fun.
2) I believe in transparency and I like the idea that someone who has read my published stuff would stumble upon this site and see my progress: I’ve written and drawn a ton of things I’m not so proud of, some that make me embarrassed now, and some that I haven’t even finished. And then there’s stuff that fills me with warm feelings for my younger self. It’s all part of the journey.
3) I fundamentally disagree with the sentiment some writers have, that “no one should ever see their first draft”. I would love to see people’s first drafts, and stuff they made when they were young, and I would never think less of them because of it. If I disliked their work to begin with, it wouldn’t make a difference, and if I loved their work, I would most likely love it even more after learning where they’re coming from, and being able to understand them more as an individual.
4) I’m not that good at expressing myself in other ways, and sometimes people know me for years without knowing that much about me because I lack the initiative to express myself… so if one of my friends or acquaintances felt like they wanted to know me better, this would be the best place to get to know me.
5) I’m a 90’s – early 2000’s child, and I miss the time of personal, non-professional, creative websites. When I was in elementary and middle school, finding new artists and writers online was such an adventure. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the skills (or the permission of my parents) to make such a site back then myself, so, here I am.
6) It’s best to have my stuff in as many places as possible, because, yes the internet could get destroyed one day, but a house can burn down too.
So, go ahead and look around. 🙂
